Dream Theatre brings iconic brands to India

Brands like Superman, Tom and Jerry, Mr Men and Little Miss, Batman and Noddy are all set to hit the Indian markets through merchandise like apparel, personal care products, food and beverages, etc. Dream Theatre, a Mumbai based entertainment company has acquired exclusive rights for Warner Brothers, Discovery Channel and Animal Planet, and will also acquire licensing rights to Miami Ink and American Chopper, both popular shows on the Discovery Network. Jiggy George, Founder and CEO, Dream Theatre, said that the company wants to capitalise on the opportunity to bring in well-known international brands to India through licensing. It is estimated that over the last three years, character licensing sales have amounted to Rs 500 crore and this segment is expected to grow 50 per cent in the next couple of years. Mr George also revealed that the company was looking to partner with third-party licensees in the country.
