Tesco moves into the second-hand market

UK grocery chain Tesco recently entered the secondhand
market in computer games. Shoppers can sell their old electronic games to the supermarket which will resell them at a bargain price. Games for popular consoles like the Nintendo Wii and DSI, Sony Playstation or Microsoftís Xbox will be accepted. The retailer will not pay cash to those who sell their old games. Instead, Tesco will give them a money card which can be used in the store to purchase games, other merchandise and groceries. Tesco has come up with a central pricing structure which will determine what customers will get for their games. For a £40 game, Tesco will offer the customer £27 and buy the game back. The retailer would then offer the game for sale at £30. This is a great way for game lovers to access a huge collection of games, while at the same time going easy on their pockets.
