Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) is a non-profit organisation under the aegis of development commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India (GoI). A striking feature of the council is that it is self-sustaining with all its promotional activities being self-financed. For this, EPCH is considered as a Model Council. The council was established under the EXIM policy of GoI in 1986-87. Its main objective is to promote Indian handicrafts in the global market and provide useful information and assistance to members in increasing exports. The council is run and managed by a team of skilled professionals, headed by the executive director.
The council’s continued focus on achieving the hallmark of quality assurance has enabled it to become an ISO 9001:2000-certified organisation. The council is set to organise the 29th Indian Handicrafts and Gifts Fair at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The event is scheduled to be held from February 20-23, 2010.
For the benefit of the Indian handicraft exporters, EPCH brings out a monthly newsletter, namely Craftcil. |
