‘With a very good reach across different customers segments, Economic Times will take the leading role in communicating the right retail picture to the Indian consumers through the ET-Retail page. This media initiative taken by Economic Times will prove to be extremely advantageous for advertisers, given the reach that the broadsheet will have across the retail industry.
Economic Times has a century-old reputation of being a neutral newspaper, and through this innovative initiative the newspaper brings a change in the consumers buying perspective during the ongoing recession. The ET-Retail page has the potential to create a balance between traditional and modern retail formats in the country. In saying so, I mean that the broadhseet through its dedicated space will exclusively showcase the efficiency of both local level retailers and the retail giants in the country.
This page will not only add value to the retail sector, but also attract the opinion of various decision makers, traders associations, retail experts and retail associations.”

“Economic Times is a trusted tool, and I think that its past performance to influence people can really make a difference to retail. This page would serve to bridge the gap that exists between consumers and retailers. The newspaper has the capability to generate views that will educate the retail industry, and this platform should be made available to the retail community. It is extremely important for a catalyst or mediator to bring together retailers, associations and regulatory bodies. The retail industry is struggling to get all the retail components together because it is very small, and quite fragmented. In India only 4-5 percent of the total market is organised. Those that fall under the remaining 95 percent, look forward to learning the effective retailing models adopted by modern retailers and ensuring that the less efficient practices in modern retailing are not repeated by them.
Thus, this is indeed a very good initiative taken by Economic Times to bring all the components of the retail industry together.” |
